A skinny Duskwight, slightly shorter than average for an elezen, his eyes, they seem to glow slightly, never quite seem to meet yours. If you can sense aether his is… wrong. Something is off, but he seems pleasant enough. He extends a hand, tells you his name is Thilan, and that he is a normal bartender. If he is currently at work he will offer you a drink. If you’ve met before you may have had this conversation before. To him it may as well be the first time.If you ask where he’s from he’ll say he does not know. If you ask about his family he’ll say he does not know. If you ask if he’s dating anyone he’ll tell you he is with some one brave and kind. A knight, he might say, from Ishgard. He is unlikely to volunteer any specific details and certainly not his beloved’s name, though he is clearly smitten.Thilan is a quiet person and prefers quiet spaces. His ears are sensitive and he is easily overwhelmed by spaces with large crowds or a lot of noise or a lot of bright lights. In a social setting you are most likely to find him at the bar, either working or sitting at it. In either case he is drinking something unreasonably strong, has been drinking for hours now, and yet does not appear drunk. He never appears drunk.While he’s shy and unlikely to approach others for conversation, he will generally respond politely if you approach him. If you mention a problem he will probably offer to solve it.

Thilan is not supposed to be here. It’s possible he’s not supposed to be anywhere. In another reality he’s the Warrior of Light, with all the experiences and obligations that comes with. He moves between his WoL timeline and this one with a degree of randomness he has little to no control over. The lover he may have mentioned is the Haurchefant from his WoL reality. He’s alive, Thilan knows he should not be and has gone to great effort to keep him safe.If you’ve met Thilan in an RP scenario I always play him as being in the non-WoL reality, though Thilan retains his experiences from the WoL reality. He has difficulty with his memory, and can recall nothing from before the Seventh Umbral Calamity, but retains memories from being the Warrior of Light and of being a “perfectly normal bartender” with equal levels of spottiness. He’s doing his best to appear normal, but his perceptions of normal are somewhat skewed. He sees all difficulties as his responsibility to solve and often forgets that many of the places he’s visited are not typical locations for an ordinary Eorzean to have seen.

Fics: So far all the XIV fics on my AO3 are set in Thilan's WoL timeline, though I am planning a Chlodebaimt centric fic that is not, unless I decide to retcon things to make it fit.

Hi, I'm going to speak in first person for this section. My name is Kytri and I've been playing FFXIV since April 2021. I've been a fan of the series since the SNES days but had mostly ignored the online entries until recently. I ended up in a group that is involved in the RP scene and needed to develop his character somewhat beyond just being a cute dark elf.Outside of the game I'm a struggling artist. I've been doing indie comics for many years and also do the occasional commission.
